Sometimes the ideal weekend getaway is one that is not too far away from home. Bowen Island is such a place. A short ferry ride from Vancouver and suddenly you’re on “island time”.
The better part of the weekend was spent staring at the ocean. My favorite past-time: contemplative photography.
It didn’t take very long before some of the islanders came to welcome us to their little piece of paradise.
Before we took the ferry back home, we strolled around Snug Cove. They have quaint little shops, cafés, restaurants and an ice cream parlour. The weekend ended with one scoop of black cherry cheesecake ice cream for him and espresso flakes for me.

Merci Raymonde. C’est un loisir qui m’apporte beaucoup de calme. Merci de ta visite.
WOW….amazing photos, you’ve captured moments when you (or I guess I!!) think a photo can never capture the feeling & you’ve done it, you can palpate the stillness & beauty!! Beautiful! love them all but especially the night & wine glass shots! & all the ducks – wow, thx for sharing!!
Thank you for your kind words! Bowen Island is so inspiring, it was hard to put the camera down.
